In compliance with Section II.A.6. ABET Accreditation Policy and Procedure Manual (APPM), public release of required information regarding ITAM Computer Engineering Program is as follows:

Program Educational Objectives

The Computer Engineering Program at ITAM considers its Program Educational Objectives(PEOs) are achieved when the Program’s constituencies recognize that a graduate possesses the attitudes, skills and knowledge to:

  1. Attain professional accomplishments within his/her professional activities (Industry, academy or entrepreneurial venues).
  2. Deploy strong professional skills and abilities to face and solve organizational problems.
  3. Expand and improve his/her professional competency by engaging in lifelong learning.
  4. Show outstanding societal, civic and professional accomplishments.

Student Outcomes

The Computer Engineering Program is committed to the students’ attainment of the skills, knowledge, and attitudes associated with the following Student Outcomes (SOs):

  1.  An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
  2. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  3. An ability to design and improve an integrated system (people, materials, info, etc.), component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
  4. An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  5. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve organizational problems using the computer engineering approaches and techniques.
  6. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  7. An ability to communicate effectively.
  8. The broad education necessary to understand the impact of managerial and engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  9. A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
  10. A knowledge of society, management, and engineering contemporary issues.
  11. An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern computer engineering tools necessary for the professional practice.
